A finished collection tells only part of the story. Behind every silhouette is a process of imagining, refining, and reconsidering, a conversation between inspiration, craftsmanship, material, and the way a piece will ultimately live in a home.

The Somerset Collection began with a desire to explore woven design through a fresh lens. The goal was not simply to create new pieces, but to develop a collection with its own point of view: graceful, distinctive, and rooted in the enduring traditions of woven furniture.

From sculptural seating to tables, accessories, and unexpected accent pieces, Somerset evolved through an attention to the details that make handcrafted furniture feel special.

Great design is often found
in the smallest details.
01

Where the Collection Began

Somerset began with a study of form. The earliest ideas explored how familiar woven silhouettes could be reinterpreted through proportion, pattern, and decorative detail.

Rather than designing each piece in isolation, the collection was considered as a whole. Shapes needed to complement one another without feeling overly matched, allowing Somerset to have a recognizable identity while still feeling collected and layered.

The result is a family of pieces connected by a shared design language: graceful curves, expressive weaving, sculptural silhouettes, and an appreciation for detail.

Finding the Right Silhouette

A beautiful chair can often be recognized before you notice a single detail. Proportion and silhouette establish its personality first.

Throughout the development of Somerset, particular attention was given to shape: the sweep of a chair back, the curve of an arm, the relationship between a woven surface and the frame supporting it.

Some forms became softer. Others became more architectural. Each refinement was considered in relation to both beauty and function.

Design Note

Form First.
Detail Follows.

The most decorative elements of Somerset are balanced by carefully considered proportions, allowing the woven details to enhance the silhouette rather than overwhelm it.

03

The Art of the Weave

Weaving is more than a construction technique. Within Somerset, it becomes part of the design language.

Changes in pattern, scale, and direction create movement across a piece. Open areas allow a silhouette to feel lighter, while more intricate woven sections introduce texture and visual interest.

These details reward a closer look. From across the room, Somerset is defined by its shape. Up close, the craftsmanship becomes the story.

From an Idea to a Collection

Developing a collection is a process of editing. An idea may begin beautifully on paper but evolve once translated into three dimensions.

Prototypes reveal what drawings cannot. A curve may need to become more pronounced. A woven pattern may need more breathing room. A proportion that works independently may need adjustment when viewed alongside the rest of the collection.

It is through this process of refinement that individual ideas begin to feel like a collection.

The Details That Define Somerset

Throughout the collection, recurring details create a subtle sense of connection from one piece to another.

Scalloped forms introduce softness and movement. Clover-inspired silhouettes bring a playful note to traditional woven design. Curved profiles and decorative weaving add dimension without sacrificing the quiet elegance that allows the pieces to work within a variety of interiors.

These details are not simply decorative. Together, they give Somerset its identity.

06

The Finished Collection

The final Somerset Collection reflects all of the decisions made along the way: the forms that were refined, the details that were reconsidered, and the craftsmanship that transformed an idea into something tangible.

Each piece has its own personality, but together they tell a larger story about the beauty and versatility of woven design.

Somerset is designed to feel special without feeling precious, distinctive without being defined by a trend, and timeless enough to become part of a home for years to come.

Designed to inspire, crafted to endure.
